Individual Therapy in Portland, Oregon

I offer individual therapy for adults and teens online and in my office in downtown Portland. Sessions are held weekly and are 50 minutes long.

My primary goal is to help my clients feel safe sharing their thoughts and feelings during our time together. I encourage my clients to reflect on their past and how it might be showing up in their present.

In addition to discussing things that have happened outside of therapy, I ask my clients how they are feeling about me and relating to me in the moment. This can provide valuable insight into how they might relate to others outside of the therapy room.

I welcome the discussion of dreams during therapy as a way to facilitate deep listening.

We can also contact our inner depths, and live more fully, by refining our awareness of the experience of being within our own bodies. I invite my clients to notice how emotions might be showing up in the body. I am a certified teacher of The Realization Process, an embodied path to spiritual awakening, personal growth, and healing created by Judith Blackstone.

Location

My offices are located in the historic Jeffrey Center in downtown Portland. The Jeffrey Center is conveniently located one block from the MAX as well the SmartPark garage on 10th & Yamhill. The Jeffrey Center contains single-occupancy, gender-neutral bathrooms.

Areas of focus in my practice:

Relationships

Our lives are full of relationships, and they can all be challenging. Whether they be with friends, family, co-workers, or partners, we can find ourselves falling into the same relationship patterns. I help my clients identify those patterns and where they may have come from. Once they’ve gained some insight into their relationship challenges, they are better-equipped to decide how they would like to move forward.

Self- Esteem

Our most important relationship is our relationship to ourselves. Often we are our own worst critic and biggest bully. I help my clients to recognize these negative internal messages and to treat themselves with more compassion and kindness. Our work together helps my clients to appreciate the unique value that they have as people.

Personal Growth

There are lots of things that can get in the way of personal growth. In our work together, my clients are able to identify those obstacles so they don’t seem so insurmountable. Our relationships are a reflection of how we see ourselves and the world around us. By reflecting on these relationships my clients are able to gain insight into how they might like to approach life differently.

Depression

Depression can show up in many different ways. You might feel like you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, or that you’re not getting the same joy out of life that you once did. You may feel hopeless and have trouble concentrating at work or school. Therapy can help lift the weight of depression so that we feel more connected to others and ourselves.

Anxiety and Stress

There is so much to be anxious about in the modern world. Work, school, relationships, and concerns for the future can all be sources of stress. A certain degree of stress can be motivating, but often it just feels like too much to bear. I help my clients to reflect on what is making them anxious and overwhelmed so that they can find ways to manage their stress.

Inclusivity

I welcome inquiries from individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations, and those who are in a process of exploration. I welcome inquiries from individuals of all racial, ethnic, national, religious, and caste backgrounds. I endeavor to be polyamory-friendly in my practice. My practice is based in downtown Portland, Oregon and I am able to offer online therapy to individuals living in Portland and throughout Oregon.
